Bruh's of Sigma Omega Phi Fraternity, Inc. are to act as mature woMEN at all times. This includes any activities with Bruhs or potential Bruhs.
Hazing in this Bruhhood is defined as any action taken, or situation created which recklessly or intently endangers the mental or physical health or safety of any person for the purpose of induction of admission into any organization operating under the sanction of, or recognized as a chapter by Sigma Omega Phi Fraternity, Inc.
The term hazing shall include, but is not limited to: any brutality of a physical nature, such as whipping, beating, branding, exposure to elements, forced consumption of food, liquor, drug or other substances, or any other forced activity which could adversely affect the physical health and safety of an individual. It shall also include any activity which would subject the individual to extreme mental stress, to include any willful destruction or removal of public or private property.
When there are accusations of hazing, at no time will a Bruh or potential Bruh feel threatened in coming forward to the National Executive Board. The National Executive Board of the Fraternity provides complete confidentiality when dealing with these serious issues.
Sigma Omega Phi Fraternity, Inc. does not consent to, condone, suggest, or tolerate any act of hazing, harassment or humiliation during the membership intake process; nor will the Fraternity be responsible or liable for any damages, claims or actions based upon the conduct of any individuals, groups, or associations purported to be in any way connected with induction in the Fraternity.
An interest/pledge will not be subject to any act of hazing or harassment in connection with or during her induction into membership into the Fraternity. Sigma Omega Phi Fraternity, Inc. has no tolerance for any Bruhs who engage in hazing. If any Bruh is found guilty of hazing, they will be removed from the Bruhhood.
